Blackhawks acquire Regin, Bouchard from Islanders
The Blackhawks acquired forwards Peter Regin and Pierre-Marc Bouchard from the Islanders for a fourth-round pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. Regin is headed to Chicago while Bouchard will play for the AHL's Rockford IceHogs, the Hawks' affiliate team. Brandon Pirri will also be reassigned to Rockford.
Regin has seven points in 44 appearances this season. Two of those points came on Oct. 8 vs the Coyotes. The Denmark native has 62 points in 222 NHL gamers, 47 points in 56 AHL games and 58 points in 150 games with Timra of the Swedish Hockey League. He has been to the International Ice Hockey Federation World Championships six times.
Bouchard has nine points in 28 games with the Islanders and 17 points in 20 games with the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers. The Quebec native has 356 points in 593 NHL games, 71 points in 87 AHL games and 235 points in 136 games with the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League's Chicoutimi Sagueneens. He won a silver medal while representing Canada in the 2003 IIHF World Junior Championship.
